Narrative Toward Books Larung (Saman #2)

Weigh Up Epithetical Books Larung (Saman #2)
Contrary with public opinion, even with the author it self, I'd prefer Larung as the best narration compared with Saman. The title it self caught my eye, the unended coffin!Larung using, what I called Darkness Literary about the darkside of Indonesia: 1965's killing field. The narration about the dead of Larung's grandmother is really really throw me into the bitter experienced of Indonesian in that decade.

The most 'honest' book I have ever read. Never read Ayu Utami before, and even I've ever read Djenar Maesa Ayu--the writer with the same feminist style--but I still shocked with the Ayu's honesty in every word she chose. Very recommended for the new experience of reading. You will feel the atmosphere of politic and power in Soeharto's era, when people like Larung, will be vanished by the government.

Thankyou Ayu for giving us Larung, even he is rather... psychotic?

Larung is the second series from Saman, the first novel. It's years-and-years late for me to read this series since Saman--frankly it was hard for me to find this book. But I can say this: I have never disappointed with her literally works. Her stories have always shocked me to keep on reading.Larung is short name of the main character--Larung Lanang--the cool, smart, mysterious man. The novel begin with supernatural stories between Larung and her grand mother. Then, the novel is going further

Finally finished the second book of Saman. In spite of the vulgarity of the language or the diction, perhaps, some people think it's vulgar, 'kay, I find it cool. I mean, can't woman writer (is it woman writer? lol) write like that? :v the characters too, each characters has different, um.. what is it, err.. atmosphere? whooaaa... I still remember when I tell people that I really want to read this book, they will say, "...do you seriously want to read those books? those books are generally

It's also a good book of Ayu Utami.

Seriously, was that the best way to end this novel? With a frickin' cliffhanger? I thought it was gonna end well *sobs* In terms of its writing, Larung is definitely more vulgar compared to Saman and man, her imagination is truly bizarre but it really suits the novel as a whole. I found it hard to understand some of the vocabularies used and it made me want to take an advanced class in Bahasa Indonesia. LOL. But overall, it was quite engaging although there were a few letdowns.
