Interpretation Supposing Books خان الخليلي
Rating: 3.5/4.0 I loved how the author described the village and how he made all the characters very human. Despite the book having a simple story, the author's underlying message was that there is nothing perfect. Nobody is perfect and no place is perfect. The story is set in the 1940s, in the world war and it tells the story of a family who moves from their neighborhood to another neighborhood named Khan Al Khalili (Title of the book) for safety purposes. Two brothers fall in love with the same girl. Who is going to get the girl? You have read to know this. But don't get it wrong. Although love is a big part of the book but it is not all what the book is about. I would call the story more relating to humanity and human nature in different situations than just being about love. I would recommend you reading this. Nice reading.Rating Containing Books خان الخليلي

Immerses you in the complex and nuanced sights, smells, sounds and society of this Cairo neighbourhood. And the stifled appetites, desires, loves and lives of its denizens as World War II rages nearby. A foretaste of the novelist Mahfouz would become.beautiful
Khan al khaliliok , I feel that this place is my original and only place .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsnha...Naguib Mahfouz proved to me his greatness in this novel and he deserves all his fame , i really like this novel And I am very sad to finish it ... But there is still a trilogy and I wish to had the same effect to meh ♥ #Rest_In_RIP_English

Highly evocative period novel that wonderfully captures war time Cairo in one of its most famous quarters, which was very much the centre of the author's life too. The characters are beautifully drawn and the story has pace, with a surprising ending. A good read for those that enjoyed the Cairo Trilogy. I recommend this translation.
Very good book. Hailed by some as the first proper arabic novel. Only three stars to differentiate it from Mahfouz's later masterpieces.
Perhaps the most heart-breaking book I've ever read! It flattened me towards the end. An old-style emotional masterpiece.
wonderful novel Najeeb Mo7foth is a wonderful writer. the theme, the style of writing, the plot each one of them has been made in a perfect way. it is the kind of novels which once you start reading it, you can't put it a way till you finish.i really enjoyed reading it :)
