As with the previous couple of books, the best thing about this one is Mildred's concern for/relationship with the animals. To start with, the situation she and Star get into reminded me a lot of the situation she was in with Tabby in the fourth book, but it went off in a different direction so it didn't turn out to be too derivative, even though it wasn't really much good either.Again Jill Murphy is somewhat guilty of hitting the reset button, although she makes a lot more specific reference toI always loved the books when I was younger and had to read it when I saw it in the library!!!

I really enjoyed the newest installment of Mildred Hubble's school years!This is possible my favourite of the series! It's so heart warming and I just wish I could have gone to Miss Cackles Academy for Witches!Really hope Jill Murphy plans on writing a final book in the series of Mildred's final year!
Whenever it comes to The Worst Witch, there's no need to worry that the book is anything but five stars. Great as every book in the series.
According to rumours, First Prize for the Witch Witch will be the last book written for Mildred Hubble and her adventures at Cackles. I have to admit, that this rumour is one of those ones that made me a little sad. The Worst Witch has been an oddly present franchise throughout my life, and it will be sad to see the end of it. The being said, Jill Murphy has made sure that she has ended her series on a high.Things are finally going right for Mildred Hubble. Thanks to finding her lucky guardian
