Not to surprisingly Claudia's story depicts her part in Interview with the Vampire, told via the graphic novel format.The story is a little awkward in the sense there is little new for anyone familiar with the book, while simultaneously an Anne Rice virgin is unlikely to pick this book up and enjoy it as a stand-alone piece.The artwork is nice especially the depiction of little Claudia, however I felt was overall un-dynamic. Aside from a few key scenes, the piece felt essentially actionless.InFiiiiiiinallllyyyy!How long have Anne Rice fans suffered on the comic front? I mean, has anybody actually SEEN the Vampire Lestat comic? I'm still scrubbing my brain clean of the Liberace front band and flying naked Lestat pics. But this is just pure cream. The art work is gorgeous. I couldn't believe my eyes when my copy arrived today - if you have the cash for the hardcover edition, please rest assured that it is anything but a waste of money. I'd been looking forward to this for months, with a mixture of excitement and trepidation ever since I heard it was coming out. I shouldn't have worried. The book is a beautiful hardcover edition and the art is gorgeous. I love the decision to make it all sepia with the only color the red of blood and blood tears (and how happy the blood tears made me! Finally!) I was especially happy that Armand was drop dead gorgeous. Except for the narration interspersed here and there, there is no new text.

I got this because I am a big fan of the Vampire Chronicles and look for anything that can expand on their stories. This fleshed out Claudia's story a lot more so that you have more of an understanding of why she was as she was. The art work is nice and I like the way it was done in black and white. It did make Louis appear to be nothing more than a pawn to Claudia after she became an adult in a child's body. I think any Anne Rice fan will enjoy this.
Beautiful art to accompany what is essentially a fanart retelling of IWTV from Claudia's point of view. However, there was no deep delve here; Claudia's inner monologue wasn't really any more illuminating than her dialogue in the actual novel. Many of the visuals for the scenes seemed taken right from the movie, which isn't a bad thing, just an observation. The thing that really really bothered me though was Louis' apparent insistence on knickers long after their time had passed. Trousers,
