I'm really loving this series. And I was so happy to finally get a copy of Chains of Ice.When the world was young, twins were born by a vein and fickle woman, the woman thought the children were too ugly and decided to discard them, she threw the boy into the forest and tossed the girl into a running stream and turned her back on both children in doing so the children died and came back to life changed, gifted and these children were the first Abandoned Ones.The boy brought light to a dark worldChains of Ice4 StarsBetter than the first book but not as good as the second. The characters are engaging and the plot interesting with some exciting action scenes and a development or two in the overall story arc. Nonetheless, there is something missing. It may be the fact that John and Genny are new characters and the familiar group of Chosen Ones only make an appearance about 70% in. I read the first 2 books in this series, and thought they were a waste of time. I don't know why I put the next 2 on my wish list, but I thought I would give the series another try. Nicely surprised!
