Representaion To Books

Comment On Appertaining To Books
Couldn't get in to this one, I'm afraid. Read 2/3 and was so fed up with the wine-making process that I quit. Plus, I really didn't like the lead character. Very shallow and unlikable. I've heard good things about this writer, but I found this offering boring. Sorry.

Christmas is not Christmas without Karen Swan's books. And her new "The Christmas Secret" novel has become one of my favorite books by this wonderful writer.Alex Hyde - a business coach is hired to "straighten out" CEO of Kentallen Distilleries, Lochlan Farqhuar. Both characters are determined and focused on their goals. That would be a huge benefit if their goals were not different. And lies that Alex was told from the beginning about Lochie didn't help her built a successful partnership with

3.5 starsI was debating for a long time wether to round my rating up or down. The book is good, but I was expecting so much more rom Karen Swan..she's one of my favourite writers but her last two books weren't as good as her first six or seven I've read before, so I rounded down just because I know how she can write..My main problem with that novel was that I never become attached to the characters. I wasn't even sure who the MC's love interest would be until the end..and it wasn't because there

Somewhere between 2 and 3 starsThis was not bad, but quite predictable and with too much romance for my liking. I got excited when I saw it was set in Islay, which I visited earlier this year, but unfortunately the story did not grip me. I don't think I'll be reading more books by Karen Swan.

Another Karen Swan book that I loved! (Lots of F-bombs in this one for those who follow my reviews) I loved the setting of the Scottish island and the intertwining stories. The characters were lovable and I loved Alex and Lochlan's chemistry, I loved how their love story unfolded, and I loved the kindhearted people that came into Alex's life. I think these books are a bit of an indulgence, but I love them because of it.

Much to my family's chagrin I am a sucker for a Christmas movie. Little stress and violence, only mild peril, feel good happy ever after. Madness I know. I can only apologise. Found this book on my shelf and thought I'd take a punch on it being the literary version. A fairly easy read, not completely formulaic, and not really anything to do with Christmas per se, but it ticks the little stress and violence, only the mildest of perils, and feel good boxes.

Absorbing, enthralling, and positively addictive! In this latest novel by Swan she sweeps us away to Isle of Islay where the people are the salt of the earth, the terrain is rugged, the peat is unique, and the whisky is smoky, smooth, and plentiful! The prose is remarkably well turned and fluid. The characters are unique, flawed, eccentric, and lovable. And the story is an exceptionally compelling tale about life, loss, grief, war, familial dynamics, friendship, forgiveness, courage, community,
