I received an ARC from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. WOW!!! Great, fully-fleshed characters that you can relate to; they might even be your next door neighbors; plenty of action and suspense, and gut-wrenching moments of heartbreak-this story has it all. It is not the most pleasant read in the world, but even though I just knew my heart was going to be broken before it was over, I couldn't stop reading. I had to know how it all worked out in the end. Great book. Ending was a complete surprise!
My Opinion:I totally enjoyed reading this one. It was a bit scary and heartbreaking to lose Danny and in such a way that made me angry as hell. But, it made me want to read this to see how everything wound up.What really made me angry was how Charles felt he had no part in this at all and only wanted Danny to be his friend. Ughh, this broke my heart. I also didn't like how Jesse didn't remember and that made me want to read more. But, this all worked out and I really did like the cat and mouse
Ten year old Danny is missing and his godfather, Jesse, will do anything to find Danny safe and unharmed.
